FEARED MIXING CONTEST WINNER!

Announcing the winner of the Feared Mixing Competition 2013

First I'd like to say "thank you" to everyone who participated in this contest. You guys have shown great sportsmanship sharing and supporting other peoples contributions, just like in the Seymour Duncan/Mayones competition. I've also received TONS of email and messages from people who wants to get into mixing, thanking me for letting them mix the tracks. Shows that there is a lot of heart around everything and to me that really makes this worthwhile. I did not expect that almost 6000 people would enter the competition and download the files though. I thought I could do this all by my self but seeing how there is more than 1000 contributions I decided to get help by a bunch of people I highly value. So other than me, there has been 5 other people helping out acting as a jury to listen to every contribution.

The jury has the past week gone through all the submissions on Youtube and Soundcloud, and while we wanted to comment all of the submissions to let the participant know we've listened to their contribution, we got warnings that we spammed both services, and threatened to get our accounts shut down. So because of that we couldn't leave a statement that we actually listened. BUT be sure IF you tagged your submission according to the competition rules, you've been heard by the jury.

So who's the winner? Who did the best mix/remix? Who has the right to decide this based on their subjective opinion? Deciding a winner out of the more than 1000 submissions is not easy, especially when the jury of 6 people have their own subjective opinion with what sounds good or not. BUT we have come up with three winners of this competition.

First prize goes to Ben Johnson. With the motivation:
With a killer mix, Bens contribution was one of the jury favorites.

Second prize goes to Jim Siou with the motivation:
With awesome arrangement and added parts Jim managed to give the song a totally different vibe.

Third prize goes to Anton Chepel with the motivation:
Anton made this super professional remix of the song but still keeping the original song elements.
